What is Jr. Scholars?
Jr. Scholars is a series of engaging, hands-on, social and academic online classes for children ages 5 – 12 years old. Young learners will experience rich learning opportunities with dynamic learner-focused special interest classes.

ABC Adventures - Letter Shapes & Sounds
ABC Adventures – Letter Shape & Sounds is an immersive journey into the magical world of letters, sounds, and early literacy! In this dynamic and engaging class, designed specifically for early learners, your child will embark on a thrilling exploration of the alphabet, laying the foundation for a lifetime of successful reading and communication. Classes can be taken in any order.
Counting Capers - (Sr. K - Grade 1 Math)
Welcome to a whimsical world of numbers, shapes, and mathematical wonders designed specifically for our young learners. In Counting Capers, your child will discover the joy of mathematics through interactive activities, hands-on exploration, and imaginative play.
Morning Meeting
Morning Meeting is a fun, social, community-building class with many developmental benefits, which include developing thinking, listening, observing, speaking, and concentrating skills. It also helps learners with executive function skills, such as time awareness through participation in regular daily routines.
Move & Groove
Move & Groove is a high-energy class that gets learners moving! Each Move & Groove class will have activities providing both a brain break and some PE time!
Knead & Create
Playdough helps young children develop fine muscle control in their hands in a way that stimulates the imagination and calms the senses. All you need is a few common household ingredients (flour, salt, water, oil, lemon juice and food colouring) and you’re ready to play!

The love of a family is a beautiful thing! In this class, learners will have the opportunity to make a craft just for mom or those they love just like a mom.
Supplies needed:
- Mother’s Day Craft printout (from NLA parent resources)
- Washable tempera paint
- Pencil, coloured pencils, crayons, or markers
The craft printout can be printed on paper or, if available in your area, on canvas.
Parent's Day Craft

Nature Club
The perfect class for nature lovers, adventurers, and explorers! Does your young learner enjoy playing in the woods and climbing trees? Are they always finding interesting rocks, making things out of sticks, or finding treasures to bring home? Then this class is for them. Learners are invited to bring what they have found in the great outdoors to class so they can tell us all about it!
